Part One Tutorial Programs

Updated on January 5, 2007

Introduction

The Part One syllabus is huge !!! Requiring in depth knowledge in...

There is actually to much information to possibly learn from didactic teaching, that's what 2 years of Medical School was devoted to !! Instead the tutorials are an opportunity for candidates to teach each other on small sections of the syllabus. Also candidates are asked to try and create multi-choice questions so as to get used to reviewing information as an exam question

Tutorial Structure Wednesdays 1500 - 1800 hrs

1500 - 1430 hrs Anatomy / Pathology

1630 - 1800 hrs Pharmacology / Physiology

It has been the groups decision to re-start PART I, tutorials from the FIRST WEEK of NOVEMBER. Until we get closer to EXAMS, we are also planning to re-start DISTANCE LEARNING at BAR EDWARD after teaching as well. Each week candidates are expected to provide an A4 sheet with a summary of their given topic. These are then presented orally to the entire group. This is to help prepare candidates for the oral component of the exam. Learning is also expected to come from fairly healthy debate from everyone.Four weeks prior to the exam there is a mock MCQ exam of 60 questions. There will be two Mock oral viva sessions as well.

The Primary Exam is something you need to get out of the way as soon as you can. So if you are thinking of Emergency Medicine as a career then you need to get onto it as soon as possible.

Timetable for Part I through to 2007.1 Exams
